 "SallyRose'

January 2, 2003 - September 4, 2016

Today I said goodbye to my old friend
I pray some day we get to meet again
Under one more clear blue sky
Up there where the eagles fly

And we'll go walking in the sunshine
With a big smile on our face
Race the river to the ocean
Go splash in the waves
And I'll wrap my arms around you
We'll be together once again
And I'll tell you how much I've missed you
My old friend

Yeah, I know you're up there looking down
On that rainbow bridge we talked about
And there's a place for me and you
Somewhere up there behind the moon

Where we'll go walking in the sunshine
With a big smile on our face
Race the river to the ocean
Go splash in the waves
And I'll wrap my arms around you
We'll be together once again
And I'll tell you how much I've missed you
My old friend

Unfortunately SallyRose broke her front leg in 2009 and has been retired from trialing, though she still works here at home every chance she gets!  Her pups, grandpups and now even great-grandpups are working on cattle ranches and farms and some are being trialed in the USA...several having made it to the top rankings in the world!  But best of all SallyRose is the easiest dog in the world to live with, she's my best buddy and loves nothing more than helping keep my feet warm during the long, cold Alberta winters.  Her sense of humour is amazing and I love hearing her "whoo-whoo-whoo-welcome home" when I get home from work each night, I'm sure she's welcoming me then telling me about her day!

At the WASCA 2008 stockdog trials...

SallyRose had first place win & earned a leg on her ASCA Advanced Duck title under Judge Steve Shope, and won High in Trial!

....let's see, 38 pounds of Aussie versus 800+ pounds of steer (times 3), the steers don't stand a chance!!!

They finally turned and headed back to the second "gate"!

SallyRose, different trial, "goin' home"!!

She also earned one leg on her ASCA Open Cattle title under Judge Roy Sage

The cattle really didn't want to go but SallyRose "convinced" them her way was the only way!

SallyRose is happy working anything, sheep, cattle, ducks, our chickens, the hogs...she even "rounds up" our resident rabbit!

Our never-ending thanks to Tanya Wheeler of Tucker Creek Australian Shepherds
for letting this wonderful little lady share our lives!

Get along little doggies...ok so you're sheep, but get along anyhow...

I said "GET ALONG"....now that's more like it!!!

Montana Trials - 2006

Now those "doggies" knew how to git along!

7th January 2007

Even a little working girl needs to take time to show she knows how to baby-sit...two newborn lambs!

2005....it's coat blowing season so...

Sometimes a girl has to look concerned...

Sometimes she has to look bored...

And sometimes she just has to SING!!!
After a good brushing that got rid of most of the excess fluff that spring shed was causing!

At her first working trials in July 2004, SallyRose earned her ASCA Started Ducks title (with two nice scores and a 3rd and a 4th place win) and a leg on her started sheep title (with a 1st place win and two qualifying scores, but under the same judge!)...all done with minimal training and never having worked ducks before!  This young lady has tons of natural working ability and rates her stock with confidence and flair!  Thank you to Judges Dana Mackenzie & Robert Blount!

Well it's spring again, the ewes are all finished lambing and finally we got a chance to get the youngsters out to do some training....W-O-W is all I can say! This little lady not only has tons of natural instinct and ability but she's got just the right touch of "attitude" as well!

Who's who????

"Panda"

HOFX (CKC) HOF (ASCA) High Plains Pincie Creek Panda OTDsdc HI
a.k.a. "Momma"

It never ceases to amaze me the resemblance between Panda and her 'pup' SallyRose. At least it doesn't amaze me until I look at SallyRose's pups and see her "reproduced" again and again in them! The family resemblance in these girls is so strong that an ASCA Stockdog judge instantly knew that a young dog was one of SallyRose's pups when he saw her at a trial in Missouri, over a thousand miles away from here!
